Lori Marchant, LCSW

Lori Marchant is the owner and clinical director of Best Life Therapy. Lori received her bachelor’s degree in social work, from Brigham Young University and her master’s degree in social work, from the University of Utah. She is a licensed clinical social worker.

Lori believes in using a client-centered approach and helping clients where they are, unique to their own situation. She has helped individuals in situations of abuse, addictions, marital concerns and divorce, postpartum depression, grief and loss, inner child work, anxiety, depression, and trauma (PTSD). Lori works with individuals twelve and up and has had experience working in the school system, for hospice, as a crisis worker and case manager in a hospital setting and as a clinical therapist.

Lori utilizes EMDR, CBT, Mindfulness, DBT and ACT therapy. Lori also has specific training from Postpartum Support International.

Lori’s goal is to help others find hope and healing and lead a life that has purpose and meaning.

Jeremy grew up in the Salem area, though spent many years living in other areas of the state and in Oregon. He is now working at Best Life Therapy. He received his bachelor’s degree in sociology and criminology from the University of Utah and his master’s degree in clinical counseling from Pacifica Graduate Institute. He is an associate clinical mental health counselor.

Jeremy has a good-natured, and connective approach to working with others. He enjoys assisting others to find meaning in their lives, especially when this negatively impacts one’s mental state. He also works to assist clients in finding positive aspects and resilience in themselves. Jeremy has worked with a wide-ranging populace of clients and has expertise in working with trauma.

Jeremy believes that the key to good therapy is the relationship, and is a person-centered therapist. With that, he is eclectic and works with many different modalities. He has a lens of psychodynamic therapy, that he uses to blend with more behavioral types of therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. He is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). He also has experience using aspects of Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Relapse Prevention Therapy (RPT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

Jeremy enjoys spending time with his family and friends, finding good stories whether they are in books, movies, or other places, learning new things and traveling to new places, drawing and painting, listening to good music and car singing.

Rebecca Madsen earned her master’s of social work from Brigham Young University and is a Certified Social Worker. She received her bachelor’s degree from Utah State University majoring in psychology and minoring in family and human development. Rebecca’s philosophy of the therapeutic relationship is that all of us have a deep well of wisdom within and her role is to be a guide to help you tap into that.

Rebecca uses many different therapeutic modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing and adjusting to what is the best fit for the client and their specific needs. She has received training in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR), Postpartum Support International’s Perinatal Mood Disorders: Components of Care, and Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). She also received the Trauma-Informed CSW Practice certification from Brigham Young University. Rebecca’s speciality is in perinatal health, trauma, bereavement, and relationship struggles. In her prior work she was a birth doula, she feels gratitude in serving this particular community and has experience in supporting families and helping them navigate the perinatal time period around pregnancy, birth, postpartum and beyond.

Rebecca is a wife and mother of four children (two sons and two daughters) and she loves to spend time with her family and their favorite activities together are hiking, skiing, traveling, and eating together. Rebecca loves the arts and live music. At home she enjoys reading, baking sourdough bread, and cooking from the garden.

Nicole Brouwer, CSW

Nicole earned an associate’s degree in behavioral science from UVU, a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from BYU-Hawaii (Aloha!) and a master’s degree in Social Work from USU. Prior to becoming a therapist, she worked for several years as a Relationship Educator for Healthy Relationships Utah. She has a passion for supporting individuals and strengthening families and approaches the work with gentleness and joy. Nicole believes our relationships matter more than anything else in life. For you, this may (or may not) include a spouse or partner, children, friends, other family, community and/or a relationship with a higher power. Nicole teaches these connections are imperative to our happiness and well-being. The key? Thriving relationships require a healthy relationship with yourself. Nicole helps individuals and couples honor their strengths, identify their barriers, overcome their challenges, and celebrate positive change. With compassion and kindness, she can guide you in building a better understanding of the unique person you are, help you identify what you want and need, teach you skills and strategies for success, and support you in personal transformation. Rebecca is a therapist at Best Life Therapy. She has a bachelor's degree in psychology, a minor in sociology, and a master’s degree in social work from Brigham Young University.

Rebecca is constantly amazed by the sometimes unrecognized strengths of the clients she works with and loves to see them unlock their potential through mental health treatment. Rebecca understands that each client comes into the clinic with different backgrounds, histories, and readiness for treatment, and is ready to join with the client wherever they are at on their journey through life to help them reach the mental health goals they set out to achieve. She especially enjoys working with individuals struggling with addiction, anxiety, depression, and challenging life changes.

Rebecca frequently uses Motivation Interviewing techniques to assist clients with learning about, preparing for, and staying motivated in the changes they want in their life. She also employs Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to assist clients in understanding and overcoming personal obstacles.

Rebecca knows that each client is unique and deserves a treatment plan specialized to their needs. Accordingly, she also utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness techniques depending on the individual’s needs. Rebecca enjoys water sports, painting, and the little everyday adventures of life.
